We started our happy forward-looking window washing journey in the Chicago suburb of Lombard, IL in 1992. Well, Tony did. Andrea joined in 1997. Five Star Window Washing was a great business to work for. Joe, the owner, was incredibly organized, talented, generous, gifted, etc... We learned a lot from him. He wrote his own computer program to schedule work routes. It was a great program that produced efficient work tickets. Joe was one person who inspired Andrea to finally learn programming so she could write one for Ohana Window Washing in Dallas TX.
Tony and Andrea then moved to Dallas in 2005 to work for Fish Window cleaning, enjoy not getting frostbitten, and build up here in Dallas. While living with Andrea's sister, who was attending UTD, they started building their own commercial route in Preston Hollow. Starting from their residence there and working toward Dallas city center/Uptown.
Ohana was underway!
On October 20, 2019, an EF 2/3 tornado hit the city proper. A place where tornadoes are not supposed to hit. Andrea was sleeping at the time. Her cats and Tony came to get her just before it struck their upper floor condo. They all got out with their lives. Andrea had to be rescued by the firemen. Everything was left exposed to nature, as the entire roof and ceiling were gone.

-$3500 was instantly raised for emergency relief aid solely by family and friend efforts.
-20% of material items were saved by the efforts of good friends pulling them out of an unsound structure.
-Thank You again to everyone who came out to help us physically, emotionally, and financially.
And Thank God the tornado hit them because just a few months later, Covid hit, and it was the insurance money that kept a roof over their heads and food in their stomachs as their business was wiped out with so many others.
Only one year later, Andrea was diagnosed with throat cancer. Again, Thank God because, after climbing out of radiation treatment pain, She was inspired to put Ohana Window Washing online to market the business more. Cancer is very expensive. But you get to meet a lot of really great people.
During recovery, we decided to donate free residential window cleanings to other cancer patients in pain from treatment. Spending all day, everyday, for just 9 months at home looking out of your dirty windows that you wish you had the strength to clean, only adds to the pile of depression.
